Our specialist fixed wing aeromedical patient transfer service is sometimes erroneously compared to that of an ambulance while, in fact, our aircraft are fully equipped airborne hospital ICU units.
There is no difference between our pressurised aircraft and a hospital ICU environment. Our cabins feature the required state-of-the-art equipment and relevant specialist doctors and emergency medical personnel to deal with any medical emergency or patient transfer.

Our B200 King Air aircraft are the safest and quickest domestic transfer option for patients who are too sick or too weak to endure the rigours of commercial flights, or are in a race against time to get to the closest, most appropriate medical facility that can perform a life-saving procedure.
We constitute a veritable flying hospital and our range of spacious and comfortable aircraft are capable of carrying patients as well as relatives alongside our medical personnel.
These turboprop airplanes are purposely equipped to transport the sick and injured who are flown at high speed within a controlled cabin pressure environment.
Our aircraft are fitted with state of the art first-on-the market ICU equipment for specialist care. An example of a highly specialised transfer we did recently, was when we transported an ECMO patient from Bloemfontein to Johannesburg on a late evening flight two weeks ago. Respected Bloemfontein cardio thoracic specialist, Dr Johan Jordaan, accompanied the patient on this flight.
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, or ECMO, is a life-saving therapy that adds oxygen to the patient’s blood and pumps it through their body like the heart. The process takes place outside the body, and this is a highly specialised and sensitive aeromedical transfer.
Aerocare has successfully executed a number of these high level ECMO transfers, which are becoming more and more prevalent as this incredible machine pushes itself to the fore in mainstream medical treatment options.
Aerocare truly consists of a group of passionate, dedicated and service driven professionals who understand that rapid response, quality medical care and accurate decision-making make the difference between life and death.
Aerocare’s service is based on medical excellence and extensive training; a winning formula which has saved thousands of lives over the past 35 years.
When you must face our mortality, make sure Aerocare is there.
