Our Story

What Makes Us Unique

Aerocare was established in 1978 and have been industry leaders for the past 35 years, as we have ensured we have the latest and best medical equipment and the most suitable aircraft for the mission.

Aerocare and the sister company Air Ambulance Health Services specialise in aeromedical transportation. Our aircraft are dedicated Intensive Care air units. Our core business for the past 35 years has always been providing aeromedical services to the public sector and private organisations. Our clients utilise our services due to our consistent, rapid response time from activation. We are en route to the destination within one hour, which is possible due to the air and medical crew being on standby 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is standard practice with us to have a Doctor and/ or ALS paramedic on every Flight.

Our main base of operations in South Africa is in Bloemfontein International Airport with satelite bases at Kimberley and Cape Town Airports. These central geographical locations and rapid response time allow us to reach locations throughout South Africa and southern Africa sooner than similar services.

We have licenses to operate both helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. The combination of both allows us to assist all kinds of patients, from those who need immediate medical treatment or transfers between facilities at any distance.

How Aerocare Can Create

Infrastructure For Your Company

Aerocare can create and maintain needed infrastructure for your organisation’s aviation and medical side. Since obtaining the Northern Cape Department of Health contract from the South African government, Aerocare has invested into the community and expanded medical and aviation infrastructure.

Aerocare has its own ambulances at airports in the Northern Cape, these ambulances were purchased and upgraded by Aerocare to ensure the smooth and fast transport of patients from hospital to airport erocare gained approval from the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) to land at night without runway lights. To maintain compliance and a high level of standard, all flight crew (both ground crew and aircrew) are trained on the special procedures approved by the SACAA.

Aerocare has installed state-of-the-art runway lights for these special operations in these destinations. The entire company has the equipment and aircraft to fly and land in adverse weather, similar to that of the airlines. The aircrafts utilised by Aerocare have the capabilities to land on unprepared runways such as gravel or dirt, owing to the operation this is a common occurrence.
